Our Mission: Rooted in the love of Jesus Christ, we worship together, pray for the concerns of the world, and nourish and serve our neighbors, especially CU Boulder.

Joyful Worship + Beloved Community + Campus Facing Love + Sustainability + Collaborative Service

Beloved St. Aidan’s Members,

Jesus was a carpenter, so he likely built many tables. I imagine that he took special care as he crafted each one, knowing it would be a place where people would gather to be fed – both physically and spiritually. As an observant Jew, he knew that Jewish tradition necessitated that there would always be an extra seat for Elijah at the Passover Seder meal, so the table must be a big one. To us as Christians, this empty chair is a reminder that all are welcome, that there is a place at the table for everyone – for you and for me. Isn’t that what everyone wants – to be included, to be invited, to be accepted, loved and celebrated – not just to be a guest, but to be a cherished member of the community?

Our world is hungry for the connection that comes from being together at the table. This fall has been our Season of Belonging, to understand more deeply what it means to belong to God and to each other in Christ. A Place at the Table is part of that belonging--the taking of responsibility for the table and making sure it is available to everyone.

There are many metaphorical and literal tables in our lives at St. Aidan’s. Our partnership for Bread+Belonging understands that gathering for a meal together, as hungry people,  is the beginning of welcome.  We are an inclusive community across the street from CU Boulder that makes room for all people who seek deeper community.  Our place in the geography of Boulder and the University of Colorado is a sacred and holy place, a “table set in the wilderness” (Psalm 23). Our tables of fellowship for coffee hour are lively and ever changing. Our Vestry leads by being together in community in prayer, counsel, and decision making. Our healing ministers gather each week to pray for the needs of our congregation and beyond. Each of these tables is important as we fulfill our Mission, Vision and Values, which the Vestry renewed this fall.

We want everyone to have A Place at the Table – whether that is the Eucharistic table where we place our offerings to be blessed, or our Zoom morning prayer, or the meeting table where we gather to ensure the continuation of our mission to share Christ’s love with all people. This mission is part of your work in the world. We invite everyone to take their place at the table and share in this vision of community.  When you make your place at the table, you are supporting our music program, including our Choral Scholars; you are supporting our clergy and our pastoral care and worship--the most beautiful and important expressions of our Christian faith; you are making a literal place for Bread+Belonging and many community organizations that use and share our building.

I am in my 20th year as your Rector. Each year we ask all who consider St. Aidan’s your home, your table where you have a place, to make a financial commitment or pledge to support our presence and persistence in the community. In 2025, you pledged more than ever before. Even as we look at long-term strategic revenue-generating possibilities, our operating budget relies on pledges from every household to sustain all of our ministries – both for our parish and for outreach beyond our walls. We rely also on the rare and bountiful privilege of income from our parking lot.

In John 10:10, Jesus said, “I came that you may have life and have it abundantly.” When you make your pledge this year, I hope you will visualize this table where all are welcome and one that is abundantly filled with all the blessings of this life and the life to come. It is with great respect for your commitment that I ask you to prayerfully consider making a generous pledge for 2026, and that you dig deep and increase your pledge.

Whatever you give, I pray that your pledge will be a hopeful reminder of all the blessings you have received and will receive from God through St. Aidan’s.  Please use the enclosed pledge form to submit via mail or at the collection plate on Sundays, or make your pledge online.

In Christ,

Our Vision: We seek to build Beloved Community next door to CU Boulder, from a heart of Christian worship, that is welcoming and inclusive, feeds and serves our neighbors, and cultivates partnerships for sustainable good.

You are invited to give to St. Aidan’s in 2026 in such a way that together we can live out this vision in a hungry world that needs kindness, compassion, and abiding love in Christ Jesus, so that all might have A Place at the Table

Just as God is unabashedly generous with God’s mercy for us, we are asked to share our material gifts abundantly, bravely, and hopefully. To sustain our staff, ministries, and outreach to CU and beyond, please consider giving a percentage of your income as you are able.

At what level are you giving now, and where can you be in 2026 and after?
