Hello, and welcome to Canterbury Colorado, the Episcopal Diocesan Ministry to CU-Boulder. No matter where you are on your faith journey, no matter what you believe (or don't believe), and ESPECIALLY no matter how many questions you have, know that you are sincerely welcome and encouraged to join us. We are located at 2425 Colorado Ave, directly across from the CU Engineering Center. We truly would love to meet you!
Canterbury hosts a variety of activities every month, which include bible study, student fellowship, workshops and presentations on matters of faith. Bible Study is held weekly on campus throughout the semester.
We will also sponsor two lectures each semester in our Christos lecture series. This is a time when professors and members of the academic community discuss the intersection of their faith and academic lives.
Church worship is on Sunday mornings at 8am (for early risers!) and 10:30am. There are plenty of opportunities for students to participate in the life of the parish and to serve in worship and in other ways. We also have opportunities for Outreach, especially on Monday nights and Tuesday mornings from October-May with our ministry with BOHO (Boulder Outreach for Homeless Overflow).
Sunday at 5:00pm Canterbury Fellowship with food (September 9-December 16). This will offer a variety of ways to connect with God and with other people, taking the form of Evensong, Evening Prayer, Labyrinth Walks, a Christmas Carol sing.
Students who would like a place to study and hang out (9am-11pm) can use the Canterbury Lounge, which is equipped with wireless internet, a big tv, snacks, and comfortable places to study or connect. If you’re interested, please come to a Canterbury Campus Ministry meeting on Sunday at 5pm and ask one of the leaders how to fill out a Lounge Agreement.
During the week, students are encouraged to come at 7 AM on Wednesday mornings for a service of Holy Eucharist, which is followed by free toast and coffee and great conversation before you go up to class or campus.
Canterbury Colorado is a ministry of St. Aidan's and the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado. St. Aidan's connection with the University of Colorado at Boulder dates back to its founding by Father Balfour Patterson, and though our parish has changed significantly since our humble beginnings, our commitment to campus ministry is unwavering.
